About Dan Hunt
Dan commenced as Board Director in March 2024 and provides engagement, advocacy and government relations expertise to our Board. He works with our CEO and Board to deliver professional, efficient and effective service delivery outcomes for rural and small business sectors.
Throughout his almost 40-year career in the Queensland Government Public Service, Dan was the Director General of three departments including Department of Mines and Energy, Department of Natural Resources and Mines, as well as the Department of Energy and Water Supply. Additionally, he held the role of Deputy Director General of Queensland Transport.
Dan is an experienced executive who brings with him a wealth of governance knowledge and expertise having held various Board positions since 2015 including:
- Chair of Seqwater
- Interim Chairman, Sunwater Ltd
- Chairman, Granite Belt Water Ltd/Emu Swamp Dam Pty Ltd
- Independent Chair of Audit and Risk Committee, Queensland Health
- Independent Member of Audit and Risk Committee, Queensland Department of Resources.
He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) and is an AICD Graduate.
Dan currently resides in Brisbane and in his spare time enjoys cycling, theatre and sporting events.
