About Ross Leggett

Ross commenced as Chief Executive Officer in November 2021 and provides public administration, corporate governance and regional expertise to our Board. He works with the Board to deliver professional, efficient and effective service delivery outcomes for rural and small business sectors.

Prior to his commencement, Ross worked with the Queensland Government in Senior Management roles focussed on the delivery of state-wide financial assistance programs to the rural and small business sector at the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA). This encompassed well-known programs including the Disaster Assistance Loans and Grants, Drought Assistance Concessional Loans, First Start and Sustainability Loans and the $1Bn COVID-19 Jobs Support Loan Program.

In addition to his experience at QRIDA, Ross was the Divisional Credit Manager for the then-Ruralco Holdings Ltd, a role which saw him oversee the credit and finance activities of all Ruralco-owned and joint-venture companies in Queensland, New South Wales, Northern Territory and far-north Western Australia. Additionally, Ross worked in the Agribusiness Banking Industry in North Queensland, based in Townsville.

Tertiary qualified with a Bachelor of Agricultural and Resource Economics (Hons), Ross has also completed an Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) and the Company Directors Course with the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Personally, Ross is passionate about rural and small business, operating a small farming enterprise outside of work in the South Burnett region of Southern Queensland. In a voluntary capacity, Ross is also Board Chairman for South Burnett Community Enterprises Limited, a profit-for-purpose company ensuring access to regional banking facilities throughout the South Burnett.
